The book blogging world has been buzzing about this one, so I've been anxious to get my hands on it! Luckily Terri at Second Run Reviews helped me out and sent it to me for my Christmas in July Book Swap resent!
A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the writing style--it's poetic, quirky, original, and entertaining to read. Completely different than anything I've read lately. This book keeps you guessing and slightly confused until the very end, when the truth of the story slaps you in the face. I thought I had everything figured out, but I was completely blindsided by the ending. Saying this book keeps you confused may sound like a turn-off --but I assure you, it's not--it keeps you reading and interested until the end.
I can't say much about the plot because it's hard not to give anything away! But I can definitely say that this book is completely worth the read, and save yourself from reading any spoilers. This is one of the best YA novels I've read this year. I highly recommend reading this one!
