It's Monday! What are you reading?
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.
Since I'm still staying home pretty much all the time, I've been flying through books! It's one bright spot about 2020 (in addition to Hamilton on Disney + and Taylor Swift's Folklore, of course).
I finished the audio of The Switch over the weekend. I twas super cute--I liked it but didn't love it. But definitely a light, entertaining read that's perfect for summer.
I made some solid progress in Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow this weekend--it's a loooonggg book but it's absolutely fantastic. I'm about halfway through. Once I finish it, it will be the longest book I've ever read! I also am about 75% of the way through Americanah, which is also excellent so far. I also started the latest pick from Reese Witherspoon's book club--Everything Inside. It's a book of short stories, which I don't normally read. However, I read the first story, Dosas, last night before bed and I do love that you can read the entire story in one sitting before bed, or during your coffee break, or whatnot. Danticat's writing is fantastic.I'm also listening to Lie to Me by JT Ellison--I love her books and need to catch up on her backlist.
My Book of the Month box should arrive today! I'm super excited for both of these books!! What I love about BOTM is that it encourages me to branch out and try new books! I don't normally go for sci fi, but The Space Between Worlds sounds awesome!!! The Death of Vivek Oji sounds like it's going to be a wonderful, emotional book. If you haven't joined BOTM yet and want to, use my referral link!
What are you reading this week? If you a BOTM subscriber, what was in your box this month?
Happy Reading, friends! Have a good week!
