I took a few days off and had a nice long Memorial Day weekend...which consisted of LOTS of reading! I was split on these ones--I liked, but didn't love The Henna Artist and All Adults Here. In contrast, I absolutely LOVED  The Last Time I Lied and The Book of Longings. This was my first Riley Sager book, and it definitely won't be my last. The Book of Longings is phenomenal! I HIGHLY recommend it--you can even add it to your June Book of the Month box! Currently Reading I just barely started these--my ARC of the latest Emily Giffin and The Authenticity Project--one I'm reading for our Yoga and Beer Book Club! Up Next
Can't wait to dive into both of these reads! What are you reading this week? Happy Reading!

I loved both of these books! I rated both of them 4.5 stars. You can find my review for Rodham here.

I'm almost done with this one--should finish it today. I like it but I don't love it. I enjoyed the historical fiction aspect of the book, and have learned so much about India, but I just haven't connected to the characters at all.  I'm listening to All Adults Here on audio and enjoying it so far!

About the Book:

Everyone has a secret they’ll do anything to hide…

Twenty-five years ago, the body of sixteen-year-old Eve Knox was found in the caves near her home in small-town Grotto, Iowa—discovered by her best friend, Maggie, and her sister, Nola. There were a handful of suspects, including her boyfriend, Nick, but without sufficient evidence the case ultimately went cold.

For decades Maggie was haunted by Eve’s death and that horrible night. Now a detective in Grotto, and seven months pregnant, she is thrust back into the past when a new piece of evidence surfaces and the case is reopened. Jennifer Weiner is one of my go to favorites--Mrs. Everything was one of my top ten reads of 2019--and Big Summer is looking to be a great read as well. Bout of Books 28: Goals, TBR, Updates

Image
Bout of Books 28 starts Monday! With everything going on right now, Bout of Books is the perfect distraction. Since I'm home, I have alll the time to read!  If you're new to Bout of Books or want more details, my sign up post is a great place to look.
In the past I've set page goals, book goals, and other types of goals. In the more recent Bout of Books, I've set super relaxed goals--finish one book, have fun, and connect with others! These are definitely still my goals for Bout of Books 28. The main goal of Bout of Books is to read an have fun, so I don't want to stress myself out by counting pages. But--if that's what makes YOU happy and have fun, go for it! It's just not what works for me. So as far as stats go, I will only be reporting number of books read.

Also, the Bout of Books team named me a Bout of Books Expert, which basically means I've participated in A LOT of these great readathons! Feel free to ask questions or connect!

Both of these were just OK reads for me. I know everyone has LOVED Untamed, and I certainly support and agree with many of her ideas and themes, but the writing style  and format of the book just wasn't for me.  Here's my review.

This year I'm a bit sad--due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our Hawaii trip for our anniversary--but I'm so happy that I have books as a distraction.  Bout of Books is coming up in a couple weeks too, and I'm super excited about that!!  I'm also excited about a buddy read organized by Erica on Instagram--follow her if you aren't already!! We are reading The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager. There is a great group of bostagrammers on this buddy read and I am SO excited to read and connect with these awesome humans!
